IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PATIENTS - CORONAVIRUS

What are the symptoms? Symptoms include:

  • Fever.
  • Dry cough.
  • Difficulty breathing.
  • Severe acute respiratory infection (including shortness of breath, dry cough or sore throat).
  • Loss of appetite.
  • Sweating and shivering.
  • Headaches and muscle aches.
  • Pneumonia symptoms – increasing cough and shortness of breath, sometimes with blood-stained or rust-coloured sputum

Who is at risk? You are at increased risk if you:

  • Have been in an area where the virus could have been acquired in the last fourteen days (eg Wuhan).
  • Have had contact with someone with a confirmed case of coronavirus in the last fourteen days.
  • Are a healthcare worker caring for people with severe respiratory infections.
  • Have flu-like symptoms and have had contact with a hospital in an affected country or had contact with markets selling animals or fish in Hubei province in the last 14 days.

How do I get help if I think I might be affected? According to Public Health England’s guidance:

  • You should stay indoors and avoid contact with other people.
  • You should not attend your GP practice – they are not equipped to handle cases of this coronavirus as you will need specialist testing and care.
  • You should call 111 for advice – make sure you let them know if you’re in one of the at risk groups above.
  • You (or the clinician) should call ahead before going to hospital and let them know you think you may be affected.
  • You should not use public transport or taxis to get to the hospital.
  • You will need to be put into isolation away from other patients and staff.
  • When you arrive, you will need to expect the team treating you to wear protective equipment until the infection has been ruled out or confirmed.

Welcome to Oxshott Medical practice

We also will have a registrar Dr Thulasi Kurubaran who will be with us until August 2020.

The surgery premises are located behind the Oxshott Village Centre and there is ample parking close to the surgery with easy access for disabled patients.  The toilet facilities have also been designed for use by disabled patients.

The practice provides maternity medical care, contraceptive services, child health surveillance, minor surgery and a number of other clinics, which are outlined in this website.

We use our surgery website as a way of presenting all our patients with an up to date resource for all information relating to our practice.  We will keep it current with any news, developments & details that are relevant to the practice & our patients.

Evening and Weekend GP Appointments

GP Health Partners Ltd. is a federation of 20 practices across the Cobham, Oxshott, Leatherhead, Ashtead and Epsom area. We are a founder shareholder and we all work together to deliver healthcare services for all our patients which would be beyond the scope of individual practices.

GP Health Partners are able to offer additional flexible GP appointments for you and your family at several convenient and local locations.

CONNECTED - You will be seen by an experienced GP, from a local practice. The doctor will have access to your GP record and will update your GP here with the outcome of your consultation.

CONVENIENT - You can pre-book evening and weekend GP appointments via our practice receptionist. Weekday evening appointments run from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm and on Saturday 9:00am to 2:00pm and Sunday mornings 9:00am to 1:00pm.

ADDING NOT REPLACING - GP Health Partners work this us, and believe that your long term relationship with us is important. If a referral needs to be considered they will let us know.

NEW We also offer GP appointment by video with 'LIVI'.  Available Mon-Fri 7am to 10pm and Sat-Sun 8am-4pm.

Patients can now see a NHS GP by video using LIVI.  Get medical advice, prescriptions and referrals on the same day including weekends.  The service is provided free on the NHS.  You can download the LIVI app to your mobile phone or tablet at the APP store or Google Play or visit www.livi.co.uk for more information.

Complex and long term problems are unlikely to be resolved in a 10 minute consultation with a new doctor, and are best followed up with your usual GP here at the Practice.
